I have been splitting logs with a felling axe for years and wiped out many shafts in the process. This, my first Maul was a revolution to me. It makes mince meat of the toughest logs which burst apart on impact. Very rugged looks like it will last. Be care-full though because of it's weight if you glance a log it could be lethal. I make sure that I have penty of space and a level work area before I start splitting. Recommended.
